What does it mean to heal with food?
Digestive problems are on the rise.
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of premature death.
Anxiety and depression affect 1 out of every 5 adults.
The traditional medical model is failing us because they only treat symptoms. They don’t know how to return your health back to life.
Good news: I do.
Help for Your Tummy, Heart, and Emotions
One cannot think well, love well, and sleep well if one has not dined well. ~ Virginia Woolf
- Soothe Your Tummy.
If you’re suffering from digestive distress (i.e., IBS, diverticulitis, heartburn) whip up a batch of my homemade healing soup.
Start with an organic bouillon base that is made from organic vegetables. I like, Better Than Bouillon. Drinking this broth during gastric upset is healing and easy on the system.
Then, as your tummy begins to feel better, add non-gassy vegetables (e.g., spinach, onions, garlic, carrots) for a great nutrition boost that’s easy on your digestive tract. Easy to digest food allows your digestive tract to heal while gently giving it easy to assimilated nutrients.
2. Help Your Heart.
During digestion, your colon requires a lot of blood, especially when the food you’re eating is hard to digest. When this happens, your heart is forced to work harder.
You can help your heart by eating food in the right combination. Doing so lessens the effort required for digestion, thereby, easing the strain on your heart.
Happy heart food combining:
- Only eat meat with vegetables (no carbs).
- Just eat carbs (rice, pasta, potato, bread) with vegetables. Don’t combine any animal protein with a carb.
- Smooth Out Your Emotional Swings.
Emotional swings occur when your blood sugar is out of balance. If you’d like to read more about this, here’s a blog post you’ll find helpful: Emotions and Food: Who or What Is in Control.
Choosing foods with sugar, white flour, or a diet that’s mostly carb-based will cause your emotions to become unstable. What might feel like anxiety or depression could be the result of an improper diet. Instead of popping a pill, heal with food.
Eating some protein source every 2 to 4 hours can smooth out your emotional swings and enable you to rise above a diagnosis where medication isn’t the answer.
The Problem with Taking Medication
Negative side effects.
When you take medication to treat a symptom, side effects are common.
Side effects are not secondary effects. They are the primary effects of the medicine that is harmful or unpleasant.
We’ve all grown up with the belief that if the doctor tells us to take a pill, that that’s what we should do. Most women don’t know they have alternate choices – choices that can heal their body instead of harm it.
Ok, so some health conditions can get to a point where medication is a “necessary evil.” But, before that happens to you, when you’re hurting, consider healing with food – the right kind of food.
With digestive, cardiovascular, and anxiety and depression on the rise, it’s time to consider a better way to heal and bring your health back to life.
Believe me when I say: most of the time, eating the right kinds of food, in the right combination, will soothe your tummy, heal your heart, and stabilize your emotions better than any pill.
